About The Redact PDF Tool
Sending a tax form or bank statement with your Social Security Number exposed is highly dangerous. Standard PDF viewers let you draw black shapes over text, but anyone can simply delete the shape later to reveal the text underneath.
This tool provides a 100% local, mathematically permanent redaction engine. You visually draw bounding boxes over the data you want to hide. The local engine maps those coordinates, burns solid black vectors over them, and flattens the byte stream.
How to Use
- Upload your PDF document.
- Draw a box over the sensitive information you want to hide.
- Click 'Save Current Zone'. The box will turn black. You can repeat this to add multiple redaction zones.
- Click 'Apply Redactions & Preview'. The local engine will permanently censor those exact coordinates on every page of your document.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the text completely gone?
Yes. This tool burns a solid black vector shape over the text. If someone tries to highlight or copy the redacted area, they will not be able to retrieve the text underneath.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
Absolutely not. The dual-engine architecture (visual rendering and vector drawing) executes entirely inside your browser's RAM. Your highly sensitive documents never touch an external network.
Does it redact every page?
Yes. For consistency and safety, the tool applies your drawn redaction zones to the exact same coordinates on every single page of the document.
